Larry Townsend, 71

Larry Townsend, 71, of 11251 East Drive, St. Marys, died suddenly on Dec. 18, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1942, in Mendon, the son of Merle and Theo (Brown) Townsend.

He married Janice Dunn on Feb. 28, 2005, and she survives at the residence.

He is survived by his son, Edward Townsend of St. Marys, a stepdaughter, Cherie Boedicker of St. Marys and a stepson, Shannon Boedicker of Celina.

He is survived by six grandchildren, Alex Townsend, James Townsend, Sebastian Boedicker, Mya Boedicker, Suzanna Wint and Riley Sealscott.

He is survived by a brother, Bill Townsend of Wapakoneta and two stepbrothers, Pat O’Neal of Mendon and Jim O’Neal.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry attended school in Mendon. He retired from Harvard Industries in Spencerville. He loved coyote hunting and cat fishing. He liked to watch NASCAR. He had a great personality and will be remembered as a person who would do anything to help a friend.

Funeral rites will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, the Rev. David Williams, officiant.

Private family burial rites will be held.

Friends may call from noon until the time of services on Sunday, where memorial donations may be given to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Condolences may be sent to Larry’s family via MillerFuneralHomes.net.
