Kyle J. Bensman, 24

Kyle J. Bensman, 24, of New Bremen, died early on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2014, at his residence. 

He was born on Aug. 2, 1989, in St. Marys, to Nickolas and Diane (Holdheide) Bensman, who survive in New Bremen. 

He is also survived by his brother, Kevin Bensman and Sarah McManus, of Cincinnati, sister Kelli Bensman of New Bremen, grandmother Joan (Winner) Holdheide of Fort Loramie, and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Rose (Broering) Bensman and Ralph Holdheide.

Kyle was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer.  He was a 2008 graduate of New Bremen High School.  In 2012, he graduated from Heidelberg University where he majored in water biology and environmental sciences-chemistry. While attending Heidelberg, he was a member of the Sigma Tau Nu fraternity.  Kyle was employed as an environmental analyst at Alloway Labs in Lima, Ohio.  His hobbies included oil painting, golfing, fishing, gardening, and he was an avid bike rider. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating.

Burial will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen.

Calling hours will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, at which time the Rosary will be prayed.
