Kurt Allan Metzger, 53

Kurt Allan Metzger, 53, of Coldwater, died at 7:55 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.

He was born on May 13, 1959, in Lima, to Kermit E. ‘Whitey’ and Maris Yuteve Kirchner Metzger, and they survive him in Wapakoneta.

He is survived by a sister, Elisha (Bart) Smith of Wapakoneta; his nieces, Andrea Smith Brookhart and Emily Smith; an uncle and aunt, Norman and Bonnie Kirchner; many cousins.

Mr. Metzger was a member of the Aktion of Mercer County. He attended the Cheryl Ann Programs of Mercer County. He  enjoyed bowling for Big Brothers Big Sisters, camping, traveling and the Special Olympics.

Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, with the Rev. Kevin Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be directed to the Cheryl Ann Programs Activity Fund 4980 Mud Pike, Celina, Ohio, 45822, or to Briarwood Village, 100 Don Desch Drive, Activity Fund, Coldwater, Ohio, 45828.
