Kenneth Ray Smith, 56, 1401 E. Main St., Muncie, Ind., died on Monday, July 1, 2013, of natural causes.

He was born on Nov. 21, 1956, in Muncie, Ind., to Evva L. Fry (Hatfield).

Surviving siblings are Brenda S. Campbell (Fry), James A. Fry and William L. Fry III.

Kenneth was a loving father figure to Kelly, Gina and Julie Bladen from Muncie, Ind.

He was employed with Chicago Bridge and Iron (CBI). Kenneth was a world class welding technician and metalurgist with an impeccable work record, setting a standard of excellence unsurpassed.

Kenneth graduated from Memorial High School in St. Marys in 1975. He was a star basketball player for the St. Marys Roughriders.

He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his hobby of salt water aquariums.  He attended the Church of Christ in St. Marys.

The family would like to thank Ball Memorial Hospital Cancer Center for their unwavering commitment to the preservation of life.

The service will be held at noon July 20 at Meeks Mortuary in Muncie, Ind.

The burial will take place after the service at Tomlinson Cemetery in Muncie, Ind.
