Joy Ann (Rose) McLear, 59, of  Greenville, died on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at her residence.

She was born on March 20, 1953, in Coldwater, the daughter of Raphael and Mary Helen (Waterbusch) Rose, and her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives her in New Bremen.

She is also survived by her siblings, Ronald Rose of New Bremen, Charlene (Mark) Piening of Minster, Robert Rose of Botkins, James Rose of New Bremen and Michael Rose of New Bremen; a brother-in-law, Jeff Sommer of Minster; a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Nicholas Rose; a sister, Maricarol Sommer.

Ms. McLear was a member of the St. Marys Catholic Church in Greenville. She was a 1971 graduate of New Bremen High School and a 1974 graduate of the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Dayton. She retired in 2010 after 30 years with the Richmond, Ind., State Hospital, where she was a registered nurse.

She enjoyed quilting, historic classic cars and taking her nephews and nieces on nature walks.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen, with the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Sebastian Cemetery in St. Sebastian.

Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pioneer Nature Center in Greenville.
