John V. Stinebaugh, 89

John V. Stinebaugh, 89, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 3:35 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Auglaize Acres.  

He was born on March 31, 1924, in Auglaize County, the son of Oscar and Edith (Weadock) Stinebaugh, who preceded him in death.  

John is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Joan Cox Earl Stinebaugh.  

Other survivors include, two sons, Jim (Roxie) Stinebaugh and Nick (Peggy) Earl, both of Wapakoneta; two daughters, Marlene (Mel) Luttmer of St. Henry and Sue Klima of Phoenix, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Henry Klima; by two brothers and sisters-in-law; a sister and two brothers-in-law.

A World War II veteran, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corps.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, the Rev. Patrick Sloneker, officiating.  

Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta VFW Post 8445.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, State Route 501, Wapakoneta.  

Memorials may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Renovation Fund or to the Auglaize Acres Special Needs Unit.
