John Milton Buterbaugh, 84

John Milton Buterbaugh, 84, of 6761 Debra Ave., Celina, died at 3:25 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.

He was born on Aug. 6, 1927, in Hagerstown, Md., to John N. and Corrine (Reightler) Buterbaugh, and they preceded him in death.

On. Feb. 23, 1952, he married Joy Tyson, and she survives him in Celina.

He is also survived by his children, Gary (Deb) Buterbaugh of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Lori (Michael) Prude of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Jill Cherni of Celina; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Denise Buterbaugh.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with the Rev. Jeff Conrad officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Celina American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Color Guard.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
