JoAnne Griggs, 87, of Mendon, died on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born on Aug. 6, 1925, in Mercer County, to Darst and Florence (Proffitt) Dilbone, and they preceded her in death.

On May 25, 1946, she married John D. “Jake” Griggs, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2011.

She is survived by a brother; a sister-in-law; many nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; a sister.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons - Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, with the Rev. Dave Wilson officiating. Following the service, there will be a time of fellowship and a luncheon at the Mendon First Church of God.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society of Northwest Ohio or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
