Janet S. Mackenbach, 64, of 12012 Evans Road, Mendon, died at 9:55 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born on Dec. 1, 1946, in Buckland, to Gerald and Leota (King) Shoffstall, and they preceded her in death.

On April 20, 1964, in Wapakoneta, she married Thomas A. Mackenbach, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2006.

She is survived by five children, Thomas A. Mackenbach Jr. of Mendon, Brenda (John) Todd of Celina, Beth (Bobby Morris) Slone of Rockford, Tim (Tracy Smith) Mackenbach of Celina and Becky (Mike Posada) Mackenbach of Celina; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five siblings, Charlotte (Lyle) Compton of St. Marys, Nancy Dials of St. Marys, Bonnie (Ballard) Chaffins of St. Marys, Jerry (Melissa) Shoffstall of St. Marys and Sidney Shoffstall of Celina.

She was preceded in death by a sister,  Betty Griffin; a brother-in-law, Buddy Dials.

She was a homemaker and worked as a certified nursing assistant at Celina Manor Nursing Home and Valley Nursing Home. She enjoyed watching television and old western movies.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel), St. Marys. Burial will follow at Buckland Cemetery in Buckland.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed via Millerfuneralhomes.net.
