Janet Marion Pond, 81

Janet Marion Pond, 81, of Rockford, died on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital.

She was born on April 4, 1931, in Dublin Township, Mercer County, to Willard Charles and Helen Geneva (Counterman) Hays.

On Aug. 27, 1949, she married William B. Pond, who preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2011.

She is survived by a son, Ken (Carla) Pond of Rockford; two daughters, Joan (Brad) Glass of St. Marys, and Jennifer (Scott) Ralston of Rockford; a sister, six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a  brother, a sister and a grandson.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mercer United Methodist Church in Mercer Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at W.H. Dick and Sons - Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
