Drew Jacobs became the 46th St. Marys National Little League player to win the Galen Cisco Award, which is given out by Cisco and the St. Marys Rotary Club.
Jacobs was given a plaque by former major league pitcher and pitching coach Galen Cisco in a ceremony at K.C. Geiger Park.
The award has been presented by the St. Marys Rotary Club since 1965 in honor of Cisco, a Memorial High School grad, an Ohio State football captain and major league pitcher who won an college football national championship and a World Series in his career.
Jacobs played for the Pirates this season.
The award is given to the player who displays sportsmanship, leadership, attitude, a team concept and baseball ability.
The team champions were also honored at the ceremony. The Royals won the tournament championship. The Phillies won the regular season championship this summer.View more articles in:
