Jack R. Adams Sr., 80, of Lima, died on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at his residence in Lima.
Born on Thursday, Jan. 14, 1932, in Lima, he was the son of Louis Adams and Harriet Pryor Adams, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 6, 1954, he married Rose E. Point who died on Nov. 18, 2011.
He served in the Army from 1949 until 1952 and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He retired from Ford Motor Company after 37 years of service and enjoyed caring for his large garden.
He is survived by two sons, Gary L. (Eve) Adams and Jack R. Adams Jr., both of Lima; two daughters, Kimberly (Jim Endicott) Eley of Lima and Lori Adams of Spencerville; a brother, Robert (Virginia) Adams of Lima. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Michael Paul Adams, Jennifer (Casey) Adams-Reynolds, Sara (Bill) Dahill, James Dellinger, Zacheriah Salyer and Jack R. Adams III; six great grandchildren, Cole, Noah, Shyanne, Mason, Gauge and Caitlyn Rose
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Wanda Werking officiating.
Interment will be in Shawnee Cemetery with graveside military honors by VFW Post No. 1275.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
