Irvine Triplett, 82

Irvine Triplett, 82, of Pippa Passes, Ky., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.

He was born on Oct. 28, 1929, in Hollybush, to Sylvester Triplett and Clarinda Jacobs Triplett.

He is survived by his companion, Linda and her family; four sons, Irvine Keith Triplett, Donald Ray Triplett, Rex Owen Triplett and Mark Alan Triplett; two daughters, Vanessa Lynn (Tim) Dudley and Greta (Bob) Arnett; four brothers, Jerry Triplett, Sid Triplett, Oliver Triplett and Steve Triplett; three sisters, Joy Donavan, Annie Farley and Jane Lewis; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Mazie Slone, Gracie Jacobs, Corsbia Thornesberry and Mary Slone; a brother, James Triplett.

Funeral services for Irvine Triplett were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel, with Burton Ratliff and Kerry Ratliff officiating. Burial followed in the Triplett Cemetery in Pippa Passes, Ky.
