Irene Shinabery, 88

Irene Shinabery, 88, formerly of 220 Villa Nova Blvd., St. Marys, died at 5:25 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at St. Marys Living Center.

She was born April 15, 1925, in Mercer County to Andrew and Velma (Douglas) Linn.

On April 29, 1944, she married Richard “Mope” Shinabery, who died October 28, 1997.

Survivors include daughter Sandra (Terry) Lewis  of Indianapolis, Ind.; son Larry (Mona) Shinabery, of Celina; daughter Sue (Marvin) Buschur  of Coldwater; son Steven (Chris Caudill) Shinabery of St. Marys; Bruce (Chris) Shinabery  of Minster; 13  grandchildren; 20  great-grandchildren; sister Juanita (James) Wenning  of Coldwater and brother Leon (Mary Ellen) Linn of St. Henry.

She was preceded in death by parents Andrew and Velma Linn, husband Richard “Mope” Shinabery, son Jerry Shinabery, granddaughter Christina Lewis and brother Ernie Linn.

She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys.

Irene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Her main focus in life was the well-being of her family.

Rites are scheduled to begin 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Ohio 703 West Chapel, in St. Marys, with the Rev. Bill Maki, officiating.

Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home on Ohio 703 West.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Grand Lake Hospice.
