Irene Agnes Frey, 86

Irene Agnes Frey, 86, formerly of 712 S. Main St. in St. Marys, died  at 4:12 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.

She was born on July 14, 1927, in Botkins, to Henry and Elizabeth (Knapke) Braun.

On Oct. 22, 1949, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys, she married Charles H. Frey, who survives at Wapakoneta Manor.

She is also survived by five daughters, Connie (Steve) Bargdill of Botkins; Linda Kremer  of Roanoke, Va.; Debbie (Wes) Shadley  of Bullhead City, Ariz.; Vickie (Mike) Neuman  of New Knoxville and Charlotte (Tim) Findley  of Anna; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Freda Kuhn  of Rockford and Joann (Arthur) Turnwall of Ottoville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Braun, her brother, Cletus Braun and four sisters, Sr. Bertha Braun C.P.P.S., Sr. Helen Braun (Order of St. Joseph), Sr. Rita Braun (Order of Good Shepherd) and Dorothy Bettinger.

She was a homemaker and worked at the Vanderhorst Cannery Company in St. Marys. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys.

Faith and family were the main focus of her life. She spent countless hours praying for her family and those in need. Her favorite pastimes included embroidery, cross-stitch and growing roses. She also enjoyed fishing, bingo, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Rev. Barry Stechschulte, officiant.

Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.

Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
