CELINA — The Celina Police Department is investigating a report of a home invasion that occurred at 321 Leona St.  Officers responded to a call of an unknown male being in the home at 12:53 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim reported that she awoke to find a strange man standing in her bedroom.  He was partially undressed.  The suspect was approximately 6’-0”, 250 pounds, stocky build, dark hair and a partial beard.  She questioned why he was there and told him she wanted him to leave.

The suspect started getting dressed and she ran to her son’s room for help.  There was a short confrontation between the son and the suspect when the son came out of his bedroom, before the suspect left the house.  After the suspect left the home the victim called the police department.

The Celina Police Department canine unit tracked from the house through the neighborhood but lost the suspect a few blocks away.  The suspect track did lead officers through back yards and in-between homes in the area, leading officers to believe that he may have at least considered victimizing other homes that night.  Residents are urged to lock their doors overnight.

A shirt that apparently belongs to the suspect was found in the home.  It was collected and will be processed for any evidence that may lead to the identity of the suspect.  Anyone who recognizes the shirt and may know the identity of the owner is urged to contact the Celina Police Department at 419-586-2345.
