Sitting at 2-9 overall and still winless in the Western Buckeye League, the St. Marys Roughriders traveled to Allen County to challenge Lima Shawnee in what promised to be a stiff league test against the 8-2 Indians. Despite a game-high 20 points by Matt Steinke and eleven points from Eric Kerns, Josh Leslie’s Roughriders fell short and headed home after a 79-67 defeat. With less than four minutes to play, St. Marys pulled as close as six points, but it wasn’t to be as Shawnee cranked up their defense in the final minutes before recording the win.
