Hazel M. Moeller, 98

Hazel M. Moeller, 98, formerly of 114 S. Wayne St., St. Marys, and a longtime resident of Otterbein-St. Marys Retirement Community, St. Marys, died at 9:20 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, at Otterbein-St. Marys.

She was born on Aug. 27, 1912, in Auglaize County, the daughter of Edwin and Hilda (Wiegers) Moeller, and they preceded her in death.

She is survived by her nephew, John (Deb) Moeller of St. Marys; three nieces, Susan Reinemeyer of Bradenton, Fla., Cyndi Coey of Bradenton, Fla., and Melissa Cagle of San Marcos, Calif.; numerous great-nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Barbara Moeller of Bradenton, Fla.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, LaRue Moeller and Wilhelmine Moeller; four brothers, Richard, Robert, Harold and Charles Moeller; a sister-in-law, Wilma Moeller.

Hazel had been a secretary at the former Union Building and Loan Company in St. Marys. She retired from Parker Shady Acres, where she had been a bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in St. Marys, where she had been a member of the Ladies’ Guild and the Lydia Circle of the church. She was a charter member of the St. Marys Soroptomist Club.

Funeral rites will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Meyer Community Room at Otterbein-St. Marys Retirement Community, with the Rev. Carol Sainey and the Rev. Ed Bray officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.

Friends may call one hour before services at Otterbein-St. Marys. Memorial donations may be given to either St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in St. Marys or to Otterbein Retirement Community, St. Marys. Condolences may be sent to the family via Millerfuneralhomes.net.

Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, is in charge of the arrangements.
