LIMA — The Lima Locos homered twice in a 5-3 win over the Grand Lake Mariners at Simmons Field on Thursday night.
Greg Brodzinski and T.J. Losby each homered and drove in two runs for the Locos.
A pair of area grads contributed for the Mariners, who fell to 6-15 on the season.
Trevor Kill, a St. Marys Memorial grad and Southeast Missouri State pitcher, worked a scoreless inning of relief for the Mariners in the seventh inning.
Spencer Rohr, a New Bremen grad and University of Dayton outfielder, started in right field and scored a run while playing in his second game for the Mariners.
The Mariners travel to Hamilton to take on the Joe’s tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Foundation Field. Grand Lake will send Preston Zachrich to the mound. Zachrich is 1-2 with a 3.16 earned run average this season. He has struck out 18 and walked eight in 25 and 2-3 innings. The Joes will send Brett McKinney (0-1, 3.00 ERA) to the hill.
