Gladys Barnes Scales, 90

Gladys Barnes Scales, 90, of Celina, died on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at the Celina Manor Nursing Home.

She was born on April 15, 1922, in Somerset, Ky. to parents Henry and Rushia Lewis Barnes.

On  June 14, 1947, she married James Thomas Scales, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1996.

She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Kay Hole of St. Marys and Linda Susan Scales of Dayton; three sisters, Pauline Snyder of Dayton, Mary (Bud) Moening of Dayton and Joyce Kunka of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Simone Scales of St. Clairsville.; one grandchild, Aaron James Hole.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lloyd James Hole; a brother, Clinton Barnes; two sisters, Nora Barnes and Virginia Hartings; four brothers-in-law.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina, Pastor Jonathan Exman presiding.

Burial will be held at the North Grove Cemetery in Celina.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Bethany U’nited Methodist Church.
