GIRLS TENNIS: St. Marys blanks Elida, 5-0

The St. Marys girls tennis team swept all five positions in a victory over Western Buckeye League foe Elida on Thursday.

St. Marys’ Katie Peterson won first singles over Elida’s C’era Savage, 6-1, 6-4.

The Roughriders’ Emily Brown defeated Lauren Greeley, 6-0, 6-1, at second singles.

St. Marys’ Alaina Lewis won third singles over Elida’s Elizabeth White, 6-4, 6-1.

The St. Marys first doubles team of Priscilla and Ariel Dodson beat Elida’s Erin Kessler and Hailey Hurst, 7-6, 6-1.

St. Marys made it a clean sweep when second doubles team of Halie McGee and Abby Wilker downed Elida’s Ashley Fay and Meredith Little, 7-6, 2-6, 6-3.

St. Marys improved to 4-1 and 2-0 in the WBL. The Riders travel to the Lima City Invitational on Saturday.
