OTTAWA — The St. Marys girls basketball team put together strong bookend performances on Thursday night. The middle portions of the game proved to be the Roughriders’ undoing.
Ottawa-Glandorf went on an 11-1 run early in the third quarter and held off a late St. Marys rally in a 40-35 win at the Robert J. Hermiller Gymnasium on Thursday night.
Kristen Miller scored a team-high 10 points for the Titans.
Ashleigh Falk scored a game-high 12 points for St. Marys and Reagan Aller added 10 points.
The Riders dipped to 3-15, 1-7 in the Western Buckeye League.
The Titans owned the third quarter, outscoring St. Marys, 11-3 in the first few minutes of the second half.
O-G improved to 7-11, 3-5 in the WBL.
The Titans shot 6-of-23 in the first half against the zone. O-G shot 13-of-23 from the floor in the second half.
St. Marys hosts Midwest Athletic Conference frontrunner Marion Local next Tuesday night at 6 p.m. and then wraps up the regular season on Thursday at home against Van Wert for a 6 p.m. JV tip-off on senior night.
