VERSAILLES 35, NEW BREMEN 18
VERSAILLES — On a night where neither team really shot that well the Versailles Tigers took advantage of 23 New Bremen Cardinal turnovers to defeat the Cardinals 35-18 Thursday evening in a MAC contest played at Versailles.
“I’m pretty much speechless right now,” Cardinals head coach Randy Eckert said. “Defensively we held them to 35 points, but offensively we couldn’t score. The shots were not falling in the first half and I don’t know if we didn’t take enough shots in the second half. If we only give up 35 points I will take that any day.”
Hannah Holdren led all scorers with eight points and eight rebounds, while Pothast led Versailles with seven points.
New Bremen (6-13, 0-8 in the MAC) concludes the regular season at home next Thursday against Parkway.
