Gertrude R. McMullen, 91

Gertrude R. McMullen, 91, of 1039 Williams St., St. Marys, died at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 22, 1922, in Auglaize County, the daughter of Olan “Earl” and Opal (Koehn) Raymond.

She married Frank W. McMullen on Nov. 13, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2005.

She is survived by her two sons: Charles (Jeanne) McMullen, of Beavercreek; Gary (Ginger) McMullen, of St. Marys; and by one granddaughter, Deanna (Joe) Grimes, of Dayton.

She is survived by two great-grandsons, Alex and Dominic Grimes; and by a step great-granddaughter, Mandy Wilson. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Ruth Raymond, of St. Marys; and Carol Raymond, of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five sisters, Barbara Gottschalk, Patricia Raymond, Dottie Huber, Iona Mullen and Bessie Davis; by two brothers, Vernon, Raymond, and Olan “John” Raymond.

Three infant siblings also preceded her in death.

Gertrude was a 1940 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.

She had worked at the former Buchanan’s Department Store and St. Marys Cotton Mill, both in St. Marys.

She was a member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ.

She enjoyed fishing and took great joy in helping other people.

Funeral rites will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray, officiant.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
