Geraldine Carolynn Ramga, 89

Geraldine Carolynn Ramga, 89, 6755 Lock 14 Road, Wapakoneta, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at her residence after an extended illness.

She was born on April 30, 1922, to Glen and Grace Bailey Bonifield, and they preceded her in death.

She married Paul Ramga in 1938, and he preceded her in death on June 8, 1959.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolynn (Ray) Sidey and Pauletta (Jim) Welshimer of  Findlay; a son, Glenn (Kay) Ramga of Wapakoneta; four grandchildren, Paul Sidey, Janine (Michael) Loyer, Annette Ramga (Rick) Alatorre  and Rachel Ramga; two great-grandchildren, Jeannette Loyer and Benjamin Loyer.

Geraldine worked diligently on all aspects of farming on the family farm and was awarded the Auglaize County  Centennial and Sesquicentennial Ancestral Farm in 2003. She has been active in church activities all her life.  She was a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader for 20 years.  She was a former member of  Walnut Grove  Methodist Church, Bethlehem  Christian Union Church and Wayne Street United Methodist Church. She was also  involved in Joint Township Memorial Hospital  Auxiliary, Hospital Guild 6, Lakeside Property Owners Association and  the Ohio  Farm Bureau. 

She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with family. She cared for all her grandchildren and was a nanny to her beloved great-grandchildren from 1989 to 2009.

Services will begin at  11 a.m. Wednesday at Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys, with the Rev. Steve Weatherly and the Rev. Mary Kay Brown officiating. Burial will be in  Buckland  Cemetery,  Buckland.

Friends may call from  2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday  at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, and  one  hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.  Memorials may be sent to the Wayne Street UM Church Building Fund. Condolences may be expressed at Millerfuneralhomes.net.
