Garet O. Schmehl, 20, of 17906 State Route 66 in St. Marys, died at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident that occurred on Nov. 7.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1991, in St. Marys, to Tony and Renee (Craft) Schmehl.
He is survived by his parents, Tony and Renee Schmehl of St. Marys; by a sister, Megan Schmehl; by his paternal grandmother, Dolores Schmehl of St. Marys; by his maternal grandmother, Ruth Craft of St. Marys; by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lee Roy Schmehl; by his maternal grandfather, Carl Craft.
He was a 2010 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys, and he attended Rhodes State College in Lima studying computer science.
He was a member of the Monticello United Brethren Church.
He enjoyed playing video games, bowling, playing loud music and all things electronic.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Monticello United Brethren Church, 21057 State Route 116 in Spencerville, with the Rev. Andrew Atkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys.
