Delphos St. John's 39, Minster 22
MINSTER — Minster’s defense again did the job. The offense couldn’t muster much help.
Delphos St. John’s defeated Minster 39-22 in a Midwest Athletic Conference match-up on Friday night.
“I thought I saw struggling offense and not shooting the ball very well on Tuesday, but I thought, ‘we can make strides, just a little of improvement from Tuesday night,’ but … it was worse,” said Minster head coach Mike Lee. “Give them credit, they played very well defensively. I’m sorry, but when you (only) give up 39-40 points and so forth at the varsity level, you’ve got to get some offense going. Most of the time that should be a ‘W.”
No Minster player scored more than four points in the game and the Wildcats were 1-of-17 from beyond the three-point arc.
Alex Clark and Curtis Geise each had a game-high 9 points for St. John’s.
Minster (0-3, 0-1) will host Sidney Lehman on Thursday.

Elida 46, Wapakoneta 41
ELIDA — The Wapakoneta Redskins held the Western Buckeye League favorite Elida Bulldogs in check and mounted a late rally but came up just short in a 46-41 loss Friday at the Elida Fieldhouse.
Wapak’s defense shut down the vaunted Bulldogs’ attack and held University of Akron-bound forward Reggie McAdams to just four points.
“I can’t think of any,” Elida coach Denny Thompson said when asked if McAdams had ever had a lower single-game total.

Dakota Mathias led Elida with 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Stratton finished with eight points.
