Fleagle wins third national title, breaks second national record at YMCA Nationals

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Josh Fleagle of St. Marys won his third YMCA short-course national title and broke a second record time of the week on Wednesday.

Fleagle, a home -schooled student,  won the men’s 100-yard freestyle crown with a record-setting 43.41-second time.

On Tuesday, Fleagle won the 200-yard freestyle title with a 1:37.91 time.

Fleagle set a national record on Monday in the men’s 50-yard freestyle with a 20.19-second time.

Today, Fleagle was scheduled to compete in the men’s 100-yard breaststroke event at about 10 a.m.

Fleagle has qualified for the June’s Olympic trials in two events.

St. Marys Memorial High School swimmers Jared Deubler and Matt Hollman swam in the 200-yard freestyle relay along with Fleagle on Tuesday, but did not qualify for the finals.
