Eugene E. Kettler, 81, of Kettlersville, died at 1:12 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the Fairhaven Home in Sidney.
He was born on Feb. 19, 1931, near Kettlersville, to Homer and Ruth (Egbert) Kettler, and they preceded him in death.
On March 10, 1951, he married Ethel Mae Howell, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 11, 2008.
He is survived by his children, Steven (Julie) Kettler of Botkins, Sharon (John) Lenhart of Jackson Center, David (Julie) Kettler of Kettlersville and Marianne (Phil) Snider of Botkins; nine grandchildren; three siblings; a brother-in-law.
He was preceded in death by a grandson; two sisters.
He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, where he was a supply Staff Sgt. for the 320th Bomber Squadron.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kettlersville, with the Rev. Charles Moeller officiating.
Burial will follow in the Willow Grove Cemetery in New Bremen.
Calling hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday at the church.
