Elsworth J. “Red” Emans, 89, of Celina, died at 12:46 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on Aug. 12, 1922, in Mendon, to Austin Oliver and Mae Zillah (Rhoades) Emans, and they preceded him in death.

On Aug. 19, 1944, he married Doris I. Winter, and she preceded him in death on March 27, 2004.

He is survived  by two daughters, Kathy (Jerry) Bruggeman of Celina and Mary (Bill) Wehrman of Sidney; a brother; a son-in-law; a daughter-in-law; a sister-in-law; a half sister-in-law; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Fischer; a son, James Emans; three infant children; a brother; a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Celina First Church of God, with the Rev. Bruce Strine and the Rev. Richard Van Horn officiating. Burial will be held in Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at W.H. Dick and Sons - Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
