Eileen C. Wright, 81, of 509 W. South St., New Knoxville, died at 2:18 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at her residence.
She was born on Sept. 14, 1931, in St. Marys, the daughter of Florenz and Clara (Klute) Schrolucke, and they preceded her in death.
She married Allen “Bud” Wright on Feb. 14, 1953, and he survives at the residence.
She is also survived by three children, Teresa (Dan) Knatz of St. Marys, Randy (Diane) Wright of St. Marys and Sherry (Sam) Jones of Cleves; nine grandchildren, Matt Knatz, Brian Knatz, Stacey Frank, Emily Miller, Chris Lhamon, Nicole Wright, Tyler Wright, Trace Jones and Tessa Jones; six great-grandchildren, Stephanie Knatz, Nathan Knatz, Lucas Knatz, Layne Frank, Molly Miller and Amanda Miller; one brother, Kenneth (Emma Jane) Schrolucke of St. Marys; a son-in-law, Tim Lhamon of St. Marys.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Pam Lhamon; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Henning and Olivia Knatz.
Eileen was a graduate of New Knoxville High School and the Zuercher Piano Accordion Institute.
She retired after 35 years of service as a postal clerk at the New Knoxville Post Office. She taught accordion lessons for many years in the area, as well. Eileen loved all kinds of music and was a member of the bell choir at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville. She also enjoyed watching sports, traveling, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville.
Funeral rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, the Rev. Dr. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Heritage Room of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, where memorial gifts may be given to St. Rita’s Renal Center.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, New Knoxville.
