Edward L. “Ted” Rollins, 79

Edward L. “Ted” Rollins, 79, of New Bremen, died at 11 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima.  

He was born on April 25, 1933, in Fremont.  

He was the son of Dormal and Ruth (Walters) Rollins.

On Jan. 27, 1956, he married Sandra L. Hanson, and she preceded him in death on May 2, 1997.  

Survivors include his children, Randall Rollins of Northfield, Minn.; Thomas (Michelle) Rollins of Tulsa, Okla.; Becky (Larry) Fearing of Sandusky, David (Sandra) Rollins of Pequot Lakes, Minn.; and Julie (Patrick) Ferguson of New Bremen; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  

Also surviving are his brothers, William Rollins of Rio Rancho, N.M.; Thomas (Kathy) Rollins of Fremont, Dennis Rollins of Kenton, Daniel (Marge) Rollins of Tulsa, Okla.; and Richard (Jody) Rollins of Fort Wayne, Ind.  

Preceding him in death was his brother, James Rollins.

Mr. Rollins was a member of the Faith Alliance Church in New Bremen. He was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School and had attended the University of Toledo and also Bluffton University. He retired from the former STAMCO of New Bremen where he was a field service engineer.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the Faith Alliance Church in New Bremen, the Rev. Thomas Sager, officiating.  

Burial will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.  

Calling hours will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.   

Memorial contributions may be given to the Gideon’s International or to the church memorial fund.
