CELINA — Troopers from the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol seized more than $25,000 in drugs and a loaded handgun during a traffic stop in Mercer County on Friday.

Troopers stopped a 2002 Chevy Suburban, with Indiana registration, for an alleged speed violation, on eastbound U.S. 33, near milepost 15, at 9:20 p.m. Friday. Troopers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed several plastic bags allegedly containing 1,502 ecstasy pills, worth nearly $26,000, and a loaded 9 mm Smith and Wesson handgun.

The driver, Kenneth R. Moore, 52, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and passengers, C.T. Tell Jr., 42, of Fort Wayne, Ind., Anthony Bolden Jr., 36, of Detroit, Mich., and Jermaine A. Johnson, 27, of Spanish Town, Jamaica, were incarcerated in the Mercer County Jail and charged with possession of drugs, a first-degree felony, and for carrying a concealed weapon, a fourth-degree felony.

If convicted, each could face more than 11 years in prison and up to a $25,000 fine.
