Doyle M. Lhamon, 88

Doyle M. Lhamon, 88, of 875 Meadow Lane in St. Marys, died on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.

He was born on May 14, 1924, in Marion, to Clarence and Magdalena (Loegel) Lhamon.

He was first married to Doris M. Howell, who died on July 13, 1975. He later married Mary Elizabeth Fiebelkorn, who survives.

He is also survived by three daughters, Sandra (Jeff) Mitchell  of Wapakoneta, Virginia Flahart  of Mesa, Ariz. and Christine (Nolan) Fisher  of St. Paris; a son, Dennis Lhamon  of St. Marys; 13 grandchildren;     24 great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Chris (Steve) Storer  of St. Marys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Magdalena Lhamon; by his first wife, Doris Lhamon; grandson Randall Richard Rostorfer; brother Dean Lhamon.

He attended St. Marys Memorial High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II.

 A lifelong farmer, he also worked as a production employee for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for 35 years.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Glynwood, and VFW Post #9289 and American Legion Post #323, both in St. Marys.

He enjoyed restoring antique tractors, attending auctions and spending time at his winter home in Palmetto, Fla.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Rev. Oscar Seger, officiant.

Burial, with full graveside military honors, will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home (314 W. High St. Chapel) in St. Marys.
