Dorothy W. Otting, 89, of 75 S. Jefferson St., Minster, died on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at Briarwood Nursing Center in Coldwater.

She was born on Dec. 8, 1921, in New Bremen, to Raymond and Marie (Topp) Mohrman, and they preceded her in death.

On May 25, 1946, in McCartyville, she married Elmer J. Otting, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 2000.

She is survived by four children, Mary and Raymond Heslin of Charlestown, W. Va., Martha and Melvin Steinbrunner of Celina, Bob and Diane Otting of Maria Stein and Cindy and Mike Haines of Piqua; a sister, Dolores Fledderjohn; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-granchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Mohrman; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Augustine Church in Minster, FOE 1391 Auxiliary of Minister and the New Bremen Senior Citizens. Dorothy was retired from Goodyear Corporation, Shenks Dry Goods, Crown Equipment, Precision Strip and Abloom Flowers and Gifts.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Church, with the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.

Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
