Denise Metz Locke, 54

Denise Metz Locke, 54, of 180 Hickory Nut Lane, Moorseburg, Tenn., and formerly of St. Marys, died on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville, after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born on March 30, 1960, in Lima, the daughter of David and Sharlene (Graham) Metz.

She married David Locke on Jan. 1, 2002, in Tennesee, and he survives at the residence.

She is also survived by her brother, Dana (Renee) Metz of Gilbert, Ariz.; and by her nephews, Kyle and Joshua Metz.

She is also survived by her aunts, Kay Graham of Spencerville, Carolyn Schuller and Lorene Metz of St. Marys.

Mrs. Locke was preceded in death by her parents.

Denise was a 1978 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. She was employed at K-Mart for 34 years as a retail clerk, originally in St. Marys and more recently in Greeneville, Tenn. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and knitting. She also enjoyed making baked goods, candy and jellies. She was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. She loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her, including her beloved pets, Domino the dog and Winkles the cat.

Funeral rites will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, the Rev. Ed Bray, officiant.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to the Auglaize County Cancer Association. Condolences may be sent to Mrs. Locke’s family  via MillerFuneralHomes.net.
