Dayton Man Nabbed In Drug Sting
NEW BREMEN — A Dayton man was arrested near New Bremen Monday night on drug charges.
According to a news release issued by Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon, at 7 p.m. Monday, members of the Auglaize/Mercer County Grand Lake Drug Task Force, New Bremen Police, Auglaize County Sheriff’s Deputies, St. Marys Police, Wapakoneta Police and Minster Police arrested Tyrone E. Howard, 31.
Howard was arrested after allegedly delivering drugs to the area. A traffic stop was initiated on Howard’s vehicle and a short pursuit ensued with Howard’s vehicle hitting a guard rail on Ohio 66. Howard fled from the vehicle on foot and was apprehended a short time later in a nearby creek. A passenger in the vehicle did not flee and was not charged.
Howard is suspected of delivering what appears to be cocaine to the New Bremen area. Approximately 10 grams of what is believed to be powder crack cocaine were seized, along with cash. Approximate cash value of drugs seized was $1,400.
The case remains under investigation.
