David ‘Spock’ Bertke, 46

David ‘Spock’ Bertke, 46, of Montezuma, died on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, of a severe stroke at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

He was born on March 7, 1965, in Coldwater, to Dennis and  Ruth (Huecker) Bertke, and his father survives him in Maria Stein. His mother preceded him in death.

Spock is survived by his 10 brothers and sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church in Maria Stein.

Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery in Maria Stein.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater.
