CROSS COUNTRY: Riders, Cards win opener, Rangers get individual wins
New Bremen’s boys edged the St. Marys team by five points to earn the win. The Cardinals finished with 38 points, St. Marys had 43 points, Wapakoneta was third with 57 points and New Knoxville took fourth with 96 points.

In the girls race, St. Marys ran away from the competition with 32 points. New Knoxville finished second with 63 points, New Bremen was third with 66 points and Wapakoneta was fourth with 73 points.
Two runners from New Knoxville finished first individually in the meet.
Cassie Boyle finished first in the girl’s race in a time of 21:11.33. Lexi Grothause was second for the Roughriders in a time of 22:41.57 and St. Marys finished third in Hannah Tobin in a time of 22:56.06. The first New Bremen runner to cross the finish line was Ashley Berning who finished fourth in 23:07.96.
In the boys race it was Isaac Kuntz of New Knoxville who ran away with the race in a time of 17:19.69. Alex Mielke of the Riders was second in 18:22.83. The first Wapakoneta runner was Mike Greer who finished third in a time of 18:24.42. Two New Bremen runners finished fourth and fifth. Drew McClurg was fourth in 18:51.22 and Nathan Harriott was fifth in 18:54.48.
The New Bremen boys and the St. Marys girls cross country teams earned victories on Tuesday afternoon in the annual Auglaize County Preview Cross Country race at the new course near Memorial High School.
