Clifford "Howdy" Garwick, 79

Clifford "Howdy" Garwick, 79, of Mendon, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.

He was born on Sept. 3, 1933, in Van Wert, to parents Clifford E. Garwick and Maxine (Clover) Garwick Putman and stepfather Robert E.L. Putman, all of whom preceded him in death.

He married Dorothy E. (Bair) in 1952, and she survives, along with their daughter, Sherry Davis (and Dan Gabriel) of Celina.

Their son, Scott R. Garwick, passed away in August 2012.

He began working at the Daily Standard in 1951, and retired from there as an assistant shop foreman.

Calling hours were held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick and Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon.

There will be no funeral services.
