CIC Moves Ahead
NEW BREMEN — An area business group moved ahead with the next step in bringing a new business to its town.
Members of the New Bremen Community Improvement Corporation went ahead with the next step in the Brookside Laboratories project during their meeting Tuesday evening.
New Bremen Village Solicitor Steve Smith noted the village has approved the transfer of the lot to the CIC, and CIC members subsequently authorized CIC President Chris Fyock and New Bremen Economic Development Director Angela Hamberg to sign the deed for Brookside Laboratories. The deed is for Lot 21 of the Bunker Hill Eighth Addition.
During his report to the CIC, Village Administrator Wayne York noted the New Bremen Planning Commission has done what they have needed to do with the project, and the rest has been done through the village council.
Hamberg also updated CIC members on JobsOhio.
“We’re no longer part of RGP (the Regional Growth Partnership),” she said. “We’re now part of the Dayton Development Coalition.”
Hamberg noted she, along with Jared Ebbing in Mercer County and Greg Myers in Wapakoneta were notified of the approval.
“We’re all very happy,” she said.
Hamberg also noted the Auglaize County Commissioners and Myers contacted Mohr Partners, a global real estate services firm.
“They are displeased at the amount of money spent for Auglaize County and promoting it,” she said, adding Mohr Partners came up with a list of 90 companies to contact. “They’re going to shift through them and try to set up meetings.”
Hamberg said representatives from the Auglaize County Economic Development Coalition will travel to Detroit to meet with some of the company representatives to discuss options.
In other business, CIC members also:
• Approved the minutes from the Oct. 4 meeting.
• Approved the financial reports.
• Approved the bills paid.
• Passed a motion to extend the current Safeway Land Option for a period of one year at an offered total cost of $500.
• Discussed options for the village’s Christmas card.
The next regularly scheduled New Bremen CIC meeting will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 6.
