NEW BREMEN — The Southwestern Auglaize Chamber of Commerce will host a coffee for the community to speak about a variety of issues with a panel of New Bremen Local Schools administrators next month.
The coffee will be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 15 in the upper meeting room at the Lockkeeper’s House in New Bremen. Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce Director Scott Frey said the chamber volunteered to host the meeting to facilitate conversation in the community.
“The folks at New Bremen Schools had reached out to the community to see if anyone would be interested in hosting a meeting,” Frey told The Evening Leader.
The chamber, he said, has a good facility to host the meeting and also is committed to the success of the community it serves.
“We jumped right on that,” Frey said of the opportunity to host the meeting. “Of course, we don’t have a position on any of the issues, but we would like to help facilitate that conversation.”
He noted the meeting, which is open to the public, will cover a slew of topics, including results from the community survey, options for the elementary and middle school building, new initiatives and state mandates in addition to any other questions or concerns brought to the panel.
“The school officials are interested in hearing from the community about a variety of issues,” Frey said.
A list of New Bremen Local Schools officials who will be attending the meeting is to be determined.
“Superintendent Howard Overman will be there,” Frey said. “I would imagine we’ll have a board member or two.”
Frey encouraged New Bremen residents to attend the meeting and voice their questions and opinions.
