Celina PD Probes Robbery

October 12, 2012

CELINA — The Celina Police Department is investigating a report of a robbery that occurred on Tuesday.

The victim, Paul Billerman, 77, of Celina, was at home early Tuesday morning when a man came to his front door. He allowed the subject to come in. The suspect then took the victim from the home by threat of force and left with him, using Billerman’s vehicle.

They drove around Celina and the surrounding area until Chase Bank opened. Once the bank was open, the suspect had the victim use the drive-thru lane to removed cash from the victim’s personal account.

He then had Billerman drive him to West Logan Street, where he exited the car near the Celina Wine Store and left on foot. The suspect was dropped off around 8:45 a.m.

The victim was not injured and returned home. Once at home he contacted the bank, who in turn contacted the Celina Police Department. The area where the suspect as dropped off was immediately checked, including an attempt to track the suspect with a K-9 unit, but no one was located and no significant canine track was developed.

The suspect was wearing a dark blue or dark gray hooded sweatshirt, with the hood pulled up around his face, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.  The investigation into this incident is continuing. Anyone that seen a subject matching the suspect’s description in the area of the Celina Wine Store on Tuesday morning is asked to contact the Celina Police Department at 419-586-2345.
