Celina Fire Responds to Mobile Home Blaze
This morning, Celina Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire that was a total loss.
According to a news release from Fire Chief Douglas Wolters, the department received a call of a mobile home fire at 440 Touvelle St. Lot 19 at 12:40 a.m. today. When firefighters arrived, there was heavy fire coming from the rear of the trailer.
The mobile home was deemed a total loss of approximately $30,000. The occupants — Penelope Skipper and her two teenage daughters — were able to escape the fire with no injuries. The occupants were sleeping at the time of the fire, and the mother awoke to a smell of smoke.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire department responded with three trucks and 13 firefighters and remained on the scene for four hours. The Red Cross was called in to assist the family.
