Carl D. Patten, 66, of 410 W. Parkwood St. in Sidney, died 9:48 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

He was born on May 21, 1947, in Bellefontaine, to James and Olive (Jennings) Patten.

On June 5, 1971, in Lakeview, he married Kathy Jo Ballentine, who survives.

Also survived by four sons, Don (Megan) Patten  of Sidney, Mathew (Heather) Patten  of St. Marys, Jason (Angela) Patten  of Sidney, James (Emily) Patten  of Piqua; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother; one niece; two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Olive Patten.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, he served during the Vietnam era.

Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene, 390 Indiana Ave. in St. Marys, the Rev. Tim Smith, officiating.

Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Ohio 703 West Chapel, in St. Marys.
