Buddy M. Dials, 70

Buddy M. Dials, 70, of 911 W. Spring St., St. Marys, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at his residence.

He was born on July 13, 1941, in Martin County, Ky., to Abslon and Orgie (Meade) Dials, and they preceded him in death.

On June 24, 1976, in Columbus, he married Nancy L. Shoffstall, and she survives him.

He is also survived by three  daughters, Bonnie (Michael) Carter  of Columbus,                            Tammy (Bruce) Stubbs  of Columbus and                                Tina McCoy  of Columbus;                                three grandchildren, Antonio Stubbs, Danielle Stubbs and Amy McCoy;                               two great-grandsons, Jayden and Aden; a                                sister, Zella Johnson  of Inez, Ky.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Wallace Dials, Rhoads Dials, William Henry Dials and Tony Dials; four sisters, Elizabeth Maynard, Juanita Gibson, Anna Mae Dials and Avonelle Dials

He spent many years working in the construction industry in the greater Columbus area, having retired as assistant project supervisor for Duffy Homes.

An avid outdoorsman, his favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, collecting guns and knives, operating 4-wheel ATVs and listening to bluegrass music.

Funeral services are scheduled  for 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West), St. Marys, with the Rev. Kenneth Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Buckland Cemetery in Buckland.

Visitation  will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday  at the funeral home.
