BOYS BASKETBALL: St. Henry pulls past Minster in second half

February 18, 2012

MINSTER — A big second half lifted St. Henry to a 51-42 victory over fellow Midwest Athletic Conference opponent Minster on Friday night’s Senior Night.

“For as well as we started out the game — we had pretty good ball movement and ball reversal and so forth against their zones, which we addressed the entire week — we just did a rotten job once they switched defenses and that unfortunately carried over into the second half, and they basically just slowed us to a crawl,” said Minster head coach Mike Lee.

Stahl scored a game-high 16 points for St. Henry. Craig Knapke and Mikesell each added 11.

Niemeyer led Minster with 14 points. Ryan Hoying added 10, while Poeppelman scored 7.

Minster will close out the regular season when they travel to Marion Local next Friday.

Minster seniors Doug Huber, Ryan Hoying and Austin Knapke were honored before the game.
