License office in limbo

ST. MARYS — A local license bureau could be closed next year as officials from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) look to streamline their department.
The St. Marys License Bureau is on a list of four sites whose status is being reviewed by state BMV officials. Earlier this year, the St. Marys site received a one-year contract extension to provide services to area residents.

ST. MARYS — During a June 30 St. Marys Safety Committee meeting, committee members looked at options for updating the city's ordinance regarding dangerous dogs and dogs running-at-large.
City Law Director Kraig Noble briefed committee members on the options. During the meeting, two of the three committee members on the St. Marys Safety Committee said they believed the current legislation was sufficient.
