Billy E. Bush, 87

Billy E. Bush, 87, of rural New Knoxville, died at 1:12 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.  

He was born on June 22, 1925, in Lima, the son of Everett and Charlotte (Rosell) Bush, and they preceded him in death.  

On Dec. 22, 1944, he married Rose Mary Siegel, and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2004.

He is survived by three children, Richard (Chris) Bush of Lima, Thomas Bush of Stacy, Minn., and Susan (James) Manbeck of New Bremen; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Bush; a sister and brother-in-law, Georgianna (Allen Wayne) Knoch.

Bill retired in 1985 as a truck driver with G.A. Wintzer & Son Co., Wapakoneta.

He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II with the Armed Guard of the U.S. Navy.  

He was a member of the New Knoxville United Methodist Church, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 691, Wapakoneta and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Bowersock Bros. Post 6772, Spencerville. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 444, New Knoxville. His hobbies included farming and fishing. He also had a team of Belgian horses and in his younger years enjoyed coon hunting.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. David Moore officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Spencerville Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and one hour before the service Monday at the funeral home.
