Beverly J. Podoll, 86

Beverly J. Podoll, 86, formerly of New Bremen and a resident of the Otterbein of St. Marys, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at the Otterbein of St. Marys.  

She was born on Oct. 4, 1924, in West Salem, Wis., the daughter of Lawrence F. and Theodora (Storandt) Young, and they preceded her in death.

On Dec. 23, 1945, she married Russell H. Podoll, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 2007.  

She is survived by her children, Roger (Mickey) Podoll of Wautoma, Wis., Mary (Mark) Pitroff of Hansville, Wash., Randy (Becky) Podoll of Quincy, Mich., Kay (Dan) Sanderlin of Wasilla, Alaska, Ned Podoll of St. Marys and Sue (Bob) Lord of Bellbrook; 26 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; her sister, Marge Daniels of Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by was her sister, Doretta Renner; her brother, Russell Young.

Mrs. Podoll was a member of the Faith Alliance Church in New Bremen, where she was very active in the church and had taught Sunday School for many years. She was a homemaker and a caretaker.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Meyer Room at the Otterbein of St. Marys, with the Rev. Carol Sainey officiating. Burial will be in the Willow Grove Cemetery near New Bremen.

The family will receive friends one hour before to the services at the Otterbein. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the church memorial fund or to the Otterbein of St. Marys. Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home of New Bremen is handling the arrangements.
